MOBILITY & INJURY PREVENTION

If your body doesn’t move well, it won’t perform well.

Mobility is the foundation of everything we do. Without it, strength, progress, and consistency all get limited—or worse, lead to pain and injury.

At American Strength, this isn’t an add-on—it’s built into how we coach.

We assess how you move, identify limitations, and fix the root of the issue so you can train the right way.

WHAT IS MOBILITY (AND WHY IT MATTERS)

Mobility isn’t just stretching.

It’s your ability to move through a full range of motion with control and stability.

When mobility is limited, you’ll see it in:
• Poor lifting positions
• Compensation patterns
• Lack of muscle engagement
• Ongoing aches and pain

Fix the movement → improve the lift → reduce the risk.

COMMON ISSUES WE SEE (AND FIX)

Most people don’t realize their limitations until they feel pain or hit a plateau.

We commonly work with:

• Tight ankles → shallow or unstable squats
• Restricted hips → low back taking over in lifts
• Poor thoracic mobility → rounding, poor posture, weak upper body positions
• Shoulder limitations → discomfort in pressing or pulling movements
• Low back pain → often caused by poor positioning, not just the back itself

These aren’t random problems—they’re movement issues that can be improved with the right approach.

HOW WE FIX IT

We take a structured, hands-on approach to improving how your body moves.

This includes:
• Soft tissue work (foam rolling, mobility tools)
• Targeted mobility exercises
• Activation and strengthening
• Technique correction within lifts

Everything we do connects directly back to your training—not just isolated mobility work.

WHY THIS MATTERS FOR YOUR TRAINING

When your body moves better:
• Your lifts feel smoother and stronger
• You actually feel the right muscles working
• You reduce unnecessary stress on joints
• You train more consistently without setbacks

This is how you get more out of every workout.

OUR MOBILITY CLINICS

Mobility is one of the biggest things we are known for at American Strength.

We regularly host in-depth mobility clinics focused on specific areas like:
• Ankles and squat mechanics
• Hips and lower body positioning
• Shoulders and upper body control
• Spine and overall movement patterns

These clinics break things down in a way that helps you understand your body, not just follow instructions.

While clinics are not always running year-round, they are a core part of what we offer and are brought back throughout the year.
